Child & Adolescent Counseling

Just like adults, kids can participate in therapy and gain from it. Counseling teaches young people how to recognize the root causes of their problems, enhances their ability to articulate their feelings and ask for assistance as well as their problem-solving skills.

We use a comprehensive, strength-based approach to counselling children and adolescents. We are aware that every kid or teen is different. In order to reduce distress and improve coping mechanisms, we therefore aim to discover and further develop each individual's areas of strength and growth.

When to seek Child & Adolescent Counseling?

Stress affects both adults and children. For instance, home problems and school challenges are typical pressures for kids. Peer pressure, bullying, too much or too demanding homework, test anxiety, and learning challenges are a few examples of school pressures. Parental disputes, divorce, relocation, the birth of a sibling, serious sickness, grief, and changes are examples of family troubles.

Also, alterations in your child's behavior (such as arguing, withdrawing, or being inattentive) or emotions (such as depression, anger, worry, or stress) may be a clue that they need assistance. If you detect any significant changes, child or teen treatment may be helpful.

What are the main goals of Child and Adolescent Counseling?

The needs of the kid and their family are taken into account while creating individualised therapy goals. Our therapeutic programes for children and adolescents as a whole have several objectives. The child's social and emotional resources are also improved, their use of effective communication skills is increased, and relationships with family, peers, and the community are strengthened along with our attempts to reduce distress symptoms.

How is Child/Adolescent counselling done?

Although while talking is a part of therapy, child and adolescent therapy often includes play and games as well as numerous activities. Instead of speaking over the youngster or adolescent, it's critical for us to engage and communicate with them. This typically works best since Art Activities the language kids are most accustomed to at this stage of life is more nonverbal and interactive.
